What is Soft Tissue Therapy?
Assessment
Every session will begin with a friendly chat to establish what issues you’ve been having and how long you’ve had them for, followed by a physical assessment to check things like joint range of motion and muscular asymmetry.
Hands On
After the assessment, I’ll outline my plan before beginning any hands on treatment. This will consist of a variety of techniques including massage, stretching, mobilisation, etc. Every session is unique and I am able to cater to any preferred massage pressure or style, ranging from relaxing to deep trigger point work.
Rehabilitation Guidance
While massage can provide short-term pain relief, progressive loading and exercise are by far the best long term solution to aches and pains. This means that after discussing desired outcomes and time availability, you’ll likely be sent home with some personalised exercise homework.
Education
It is my firm belief that by educating people about their bodies, they can be given the confidence to return to meaningful activity. This may include talking about anatomy, exercise science, and reassurance that your body is capable of much more than you give it credit for!
My Background
I began my journey as a Soft Tissue Therapist after finishing my career as a full time cyclist in 2023. The world of massage seemed like a natural pathway to follow after several cycling injuries had led to me spending lots of time in various clinics, and developing a keen interest in anatomy, and what was going on in my body.
I studied with the Cambridge School of Sports Massage, gaining my Level 5 diploma in Soft Tissue Therapy. While I really enjoyed the hands on massage work, my passion really grew for learning more and more about pain itself, and the many factors that can influence how we feel it, particularly in sufferers of chronic pain conditions.
My Career (so far)
After graduating, I moved into a role in a very busy local clinic. This proved to be an incredible learning opportunity. I was able to treat around 2000 people in the time I was there, and was also amazing for growing my confidence as a therapist, dealing with a wide variety of complex cases ranging from sports injuries, to headaches, to chronic lower back pain, and everything in between. In the latter part of 2025 I decided that it was time to fly the nest and pursue my own path as a therapist, which leads me to where I am today……
